Whether you’re escaping the hustle and bustle of London or you’re in Bedfordshire over the Coronation weekend, there are plenty of ways that you can celebrate the crowning of a new monarch.

Here are some of the events taking place over the Coronation.

Bedford

  • All libraries across Bedford will be running craft making events over the 6th and 7th May.

Harpur Square, Bedford

  • Created by the Love Bedford team, there will be a family friendly day on 6th May from 10am.

Elstow Playing Fields


- The Elstow Playing Field Association will be hosting a family picnic on 7th May, from 12 noon.

Wilstead Jubliee Centre and Playing Fields

  • Picnic, bring your own food, blankets and chairs and take part in family friendly activities, 8th May, from 12 noon.

The Rufus Centre, Flitwick

  • Afternoon tea to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation at the Rufus Centre, 6th May from 1pm

Maulden Village Hall

  • Coronation celebrations at the village hall, with live music, food and dancing til later. 6th May, 7pm

Live screening of the Coronation

  • Watch the coronation live on the big screen at the Mill, Bromham followed by Paddington, 11am – 3pm, 6th May.
  • Watch the coronation live on the big screen at the Sports and Social Club, Grange Lane, Cople. Starts at 11am on 6th May followed by a Flower Festival and a picnic in the park.
  • Watch the coronation live on the big screen at Parson’s Close Recreation Ground, Leighton Buzzard, followed by family films, live music and fireworks. 6th May from 11am.

Tilsworth Golf Centre, Leighton Buzzard

  • Coronation Soul at the Golf Centre with all your favourite DJs and a fully stocked bar, 7th May, 5pm.

Biggleswade

  •  Ivy Club is hosting a Coronation Party at Ivy Leaf Club, Langford, Biggleswade. 7th May, 9pm.

Houghton Regis

  • Join in a Thanksgiving Service at All Saints Houghton Regis Parish Church, 7th May, 10.30 am.

Street Parties

  • Join in a good old fashion street party, being held across the county. See a list of parties here 

Wrest Park

  • Wrest Park and Kids Rule! A right royal knees up for the whole family at this joint coronation/half term event. Running over half term, 27th May – 4th June.
