Woburn Safari Park is celebrating World Elephant Day on 12th August with a charity prize draw like no other! Keepers are offering a VIP Experience to meet the elephants to one lucky winner, plus three family members who make a donation to their International Elephant Foundation (IEF) appeal.
The prize is an unforgettable one - a journey into the private woodland playground of Woburn's Asian elephant herd for a special meet and greet with Chandrika [pictured], Damini, Yu Zin and adorable youngster Tarli on 4th September 2022. They are each ambassadors for their threatened species and will be helping to raise awareness for the plight of their friends and relations in the wild.
By working together, we can all help to protect elephants from poaching and human-elephant conflict. We can equip and train community conservationists and increase the knowledge of the treatment and prevention of elephant diseases.
Everyone who donates to the charity appeal will be automatically entered into the prize draw. Winners will go behind the scenes at the Park to journey off-road to meet some of the incredible animals living there, before heading into the woodlands to meet the Asian elephants - with no barriers between you.
If you don't win the tickets, you will still be helping support this fantastic cause. Enter here.
Elephant Appreciation Day is an internationally recognised day of campaigning and awareness raising for the preservation and protection of our world's elephants.
There are estimated to be only 700,000 African elephants and 25,000 Asian elephants left in the wild. By supporting theInternational Elephant Foundation, the elephant team are helping conservation efforts in habitats in both Asia and Africa.
Since starting to raise money for the IEF in 2014, the team at Woburn Safari Park has organised an annual Elephant Appreciation weekend and to date has raised over £70,000.
The money sent to the International Elephant Foundation is put to very good use:- helping stop the illegal poaching of elephants, lobbying governments to stop the illegal ivory trade, and also to help to educate local communities and reduce the human/elephant conflict that arises due to their loss of habitat.
