Studham in Bedfordshire has come top in a poll compiled by Estate Agent, Savills for the Telegraph. Estate agents have reported a rise in demand for home in countryside locations, something that has been rising since the pandemic .
According to Savills’ analyst, Frances Clacy, “People want villages have have a bit of everything, from schools to countryside with accessibility to cities and transport infrastructure.” Savills have also reported that buyers are looking for old architecture, greenery and a sense of community spirit. The research has led them to compile a list of Britain’s 54 poshest villages, with Studham coming out on top.
According to Savills, Studham, which is nestled in the Chiltern Hills ticks boxes because the village’s pubs were founded in the 1500s and as well as access to the Chilterns, there is also a village green and easy access to larger towns, such as Hemel Hempstead.
