There’s loads to do across the county this half term, whether you’re looking for places to enjoy the good weather or special events and activities for the Jubilee, you will be spoiled for choice here.

For those of you who want to spend the half term pretending you’re somewhere much more exotic, why not imagine you are on Safari by visiting Woburn Safari Park?  You might even get a glimpse of some of the new babies that have recently made an appearance!

Alternatively, there is ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, where there are a host of additional activities and events taking place for the half term, including their Zoo-bilee event.

If you want to get the kids away from screens for a couple of hours, why not head to Greensand Country in Bedford. Stretching from Gamlongay to Leighton Buzzard, there are forty miles of scenic countryside to explore, either on foot, by buke or by horseback. It’s a great way to get out and about and enjoy the fresh air, especially if you’re visiting from neighbouring cities, like London. Kids will also love the Forest of Marston Vale.  Fully wheelchair and buggy accessible, this site is open 362 days a year and the park is accessible throughout the entire day, so no matter when you fancy visiting, the adventure doesn’t have to end.

You can find more things to do while in the county here.

While you’re here, make sure to get the following dates in your diary so you don’t miss out on some of the events taking place throughout half term. There are a host of family friendly activities on offer here.  While at the Hat Factory in Luton, you still have time to catch the Lace Trees exhibition, more information here.

As Bedfordshire is the place where the Afternoon Tea originated, it only seems fitting that we visit Dunstable Downs for a Jubilee themed afternoon tea during the half term holidays. Choose from their menu or bring your own picnic, find out more here.

Speaking of the Jubilee, there are plenty of things going on to celebrate, including a Laser Light show in Flitwick town centre and an airshow at Shuttleworth. And don’t forget, Bedford royalty, Tom Grennan is also due to play at Bedford Park on 4th June!
