There are a host of things to do across the county for the upcoming bank holiday weekend to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Here’s a list of what is taking place over the weekend.

Ampthill

In Ampthill, there will be a Platinum Jubilee Beacon Lighting on 2nd June starting at 8.30pm.
On 4th June, there will be a Platinum Jubilee Concert at Parkside Hall from 7.45pm Tickets are on sale from the town council.
The following day there will be a Street Party at the Almedia from 12pm.

Bedford

There are several events taking place across Bedford.
Running until the 9th June there is a Town Centre Jubilee Trail, where you can look out for twelve crowns. Maps are available from the library.

On 1st June, the Heritage Library will be showing its royal collection from 11am – 1pm. On 2nd and 3rd June, head to the Higgins in Bedford for a Jubilee themed Arts and Crafts afternoon from 2pm, while later on 2nd June, the Beacon will be lit at Castle Mound at 9.45pm.

On 3rd June you can enjoy a Caribbean Jubilee Concert at All Saints Parish Church and on 4th June, a Jubilee Makers Market along the River and Queen’s Walk.

Biggleswade

On 2nd June, the beacon will be lit in the town centre at 9.45pm and on Sunday, 5th June, Biggleswade will be holding a street party in the town centre from midday with live music and food and drink.

Leighton Buzzard

On 2nd June, the Beacon will be lit in Parson’s Close Recreation Ground at 9.45pm. The following day there will be a Jubilee Fayre from 10am – 4pm in the High Street and Parson’s Close Recreation Ground.

Luton

The Beacon Lighting will take place at 9.45pm on 2nd June at Luton Town Hall and Luton Hoo. Ceremonies will take place beforehand, with events taking place from 2pm outside the town hall. There will also be a number of events taking place in Little Red Art Studio during the day.

On Saturday, Luton International Carnival will return after a three-year absence following a new route. The parade will begin at 12 noon from Manor Road.
