If you’re looking for somewhere interesting and picturesque to visit this year, here are a selection of Bedfordshire’s prettiest villages to explore in 2022.

Elstow
This village is the birthplace of John Bunyan, one of the county’s most famous exports and as such, is one of the most fascinating places to visit. It features lots of Tudor style buildings and historic architecture to explore too.

Felmersham
This tiny village sits on the Ouse and is so small it doesn’t have post office or shop! The only community building is the pub! The village is also home to a Grade I listed church which dates back to around 1260AD.

Old Warden
This is one of the oldest settlements in the county and these days is home to the Shuttleworth Trust and their historic collection of aeroplanes.

Aspley Guise
Aspley Guise has a pretty centre which is full of history, you’ll find over 20 listed buildings! One of the most interesting things about the village is its connection to WWII – it was once home to those working to discredit the Nazi government.
