The Luton Heritage Forum and Luton Historical Society have joined forces to host a series of events throughout 2022 to celebrate the town’s history and culture at the 33 Arts Centre.

Delivered with the University of Bedfordshire’s Heritage Enterprise hub via a project funded by the National Lottery Heritage fund, there will be events taking place on the third Monday of the month and will alternate between online and in person events. The first, taking place on 17th January at 7.30pm will be online.

Local legend, Paul Jolly who has been involved in arts provision locally for over 50 years will be joining the events as a guest speaker.

Speaking to reporters about the events, Paul Hammond, Chair of Luton Heritage Forum, said: “By coming together with Luton Historical Society, we are able to bring great speakers to an even wider audience of heritage enthusiasts and we are delighted that Paul Jolly is able to join us for our first collaborative event. Our programme for the first quarter of this year offers a blend of more traditional building and industry based themes alongside topics and speakers that show the full breadth of topics that are encompassed by the title of heritage. While our combined communities are already sizable, we always encourage new people to get involved.”

The programme so far includes:
17th Jan, 7.30pm – Remembering the 33 Arts Centre with Paul Jolly, online.
21st Feb, 7.30pm – Pubs and Pints updated for 2022 with Stuart Smith, Bushmead Community Hub
21st March, 7.30pm – Ten Households with Paul Hammond, online.
