According to historians, the concept of an Afternoon Tea began in Bedfordshire when the Duchess of Bedford demanded pots of tea and finger foods to be brought to her and her guests in the afternoons. From then on the idea of having Afternoon Tea was born. With this in mind, we can’t not encourage you to celebrate National Tea Day now can we?

National Tea Day takes place every year on 21st April and is a celebration of Britain’s love of tea in its many forms. While we might not be able to visit our favourite spots for a proper Bedfordshire Afternoon Tea, it doesn’t mean we can’t join in as this year for the fifth anniversary of National Tea Day, the organisers are hosting a Virtual Tea Party on their various social media platforms that everyone can get involved with!

The National Virtual Tea Party will run all day on 21st from 7am until 7pm hosted on a variety of social media networks, so whatever your favourite platform is, you can join in. This year there will be a selection of workshops, activities, competitions and more all in the name of celebrating tea!

If you want to get involved, head to nationalteaday.co.uk on 21st April.
