Now we’ve welcomed in the new decade and all hopefully gotten over the excitement that was Christmas and New Year, we thought we’d give you a sneak peek of what is coming up over the next twelve months here in Bedfordshire! There are a whole host of interesting festivals, events and general fun to look forward to, so take a look at some of the highlights below.

The festival season kicks off in May in Bedfordshire with the Luton International Carnival. This one day event is the largest one day carnival in the UK and attracts thousands of people to the route around Luton – so look out for the exact dates and make sure you’re there!

You’ll also know that in May this year there is a slight change to the Bank Holiday because of the anniversary of V E Day – as the county played an important role during the war, there are going to be several events all over Bedfordshire to mark the day with everything from sponsored runs to tea parties, we’ll update you when we know all the details!

For those of you who are interested in a plant based lifestyle, Leighton Buzzard’s vegan fair is also being held in May this year.

Bedford Fake Festival is taking place in June as is the South Beds. Country Show and the Ampthill Festival is in July.

This year also sees the 25th anniversary of the Bedford Park Proms, so naturally, we’ll be celebrating in style with a magical night of classical music and fireworks that promises to be bigger and better than ever! This year’s event is in early August.

Of course, we can’t not mention Bedfordshire Day which will be returning in November, in 2019 there were several events taking place all over the county and we’re already looking forward to what is going to happen at this year’s event!
