Join this walk and talk around Bedfordshire's historic vineyard and discover Warden Abbey's hidden medieval precinct from a fresh perspective. The walk will be led by Margaret Roberts who has spent several years researching its history. As well as telling the story of the abbey, she'll interpret the landscape features surrounding the vineyard and what they reveal about the life of the abbey's occupants. The talk also covers the management of a medieval vineyard and a tasting of one of our wines.
Warden Abbey Vineyard was originally planted by monks at Warden Abbey and is now run by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity as an exciting community project cared for all year round by volunteers. Please note there is no access to the Warden Abbey building or its immediate environs, run by the Landmark Trust.
