About
Visitors to Bedfordshire are in for a treat on the 23rd and 24th April, as Woburn Safari Park is set to host a Penguin Charity Weekend.
Meet your favourite animals and raise money for the penguins!
This weekend only visitors will have the chance to book a special on-the-day mini VIP trip to meet the giraffes, giant tortoises or red panda as they help keepers to raise money for the penguins.
Decide between meeting the tallest residents of the Park face-to-face inside the giraffe house, meeting Mali the red panda up-close, or getting a fascinating insight into the lives of the Giant Aldabra tortoises. Mini VIP Experiences are available to pre-book online now: www.woburnsafari.co.uk/news-and-events/events/penguin-charity-weekend/
Don't forget to bring your spare pennies with you as there will also be an array of penguin-themed games for the kids to get involved with throughout the day.
PLUS, pick up your raffle tickets from the charity stall at the penguin enclosure and you could be in with the chance of winning family tickets to the Park or a special Up Close Encounter with your favourite animal at the Park!
Raising money for wild penguins
The Foot Safari keepers will be raising much-needed funds for Sphenisco. This fantastic charity is dedicated to safeguarding the future of penguins including the Humboldt penguin, which is currently classified as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
Faced with a number of threats including the depletion of fish stocks, hunting, and climate change, this incredible species needs all the help it can get.
