We welcome Tim Scott Bolton to Luton Hoo throughout 2019, as part of our in-residence series. Tim Scott Bolton is a renowned landscape artist who has painted more than 60 Capability Brown landscapes, including ours here at Luton Hoo. With work held in many collections including Her Majesty the Queen’s, the National Trust and the private collection of Mrs J.Paul Getty, Tim also published a book of his paintings in 2016 titled, ‘A Brush with Brown’, in celebration of the 300th anniversary of Brown’s birth.

The first in our four-part programme of events begins with an insightful talk from Tim, over lunch, in the stunning Mansion House. With a talk about his artistic appreciation of our Capability Brown designed gardens, Tim will also explore the history of Capability Brown and his notable landscapes, providing an inspirational taster of what is to come over the year.
Food & beverage inclusions: Champagne and canapés on arrival and a delicious 3 course lunch.


Garden Tour & Luncheon | £49 per person
Wednesday 29th May | 9:30am – 2pm
Join Tim and our resident head gardener, Keith Hersey, for a fascinating walking tour of our beautiful gardens. Begin the day with coffee and Danish pastries and soak up the serene surroundings whilst learning all about Luton Hoo’s landscape and Capability Brown designs. There will be a rare opportunity to ask Tim for some sketching tips and you will then enjoy a delicious 3 course buffet lunch in the gardens with a glass of wine.
Food & beverage inclusions: Coffee and Danish pastries on arrival and a 3 course buffet lunch with a glass of wine.


Gourmet Dinner & Talk | £95 per person
Friday 12th July | 7pm – 11pm
An evening of fine food and wine with Tim Scott Bolton. We invite you to enjoy an exclusive dinner with Tim, with a special menu curated by Wernher Restaurant’s Head Chef. Begin with Champagne and canapés and then enjoy a four-course dinner with paired wines to be followed by a Q&A session with Tim, giving you the chance to find out more about his travels and work.
Food & beverage inclusions: Champagne and canapés on arrival and a delicious 4 course dinner with paired wines.


Champagne Exhibition | £20 per person
Friday 25th October | 6pm – 8pm
Exhibition of Tim Scott Bolton’s works at Luton Hoo. Set in the majestic Luton Hoo Mansion House, the final event in our 2019 in-residence series is a display of Tim Scott Bolton’s works. Hear from the artist himself and sip on Champagne and enjoy delicious canapés before viewing Tim’s Capability Brown paintings. Celebrate International Artist’s Day with this fabulous event.
