A hat isn't just a hat! Discover the life stories behind the making of hats in this fascinating talk by hat industry historian, Veronica Main.

If a hat could talk it would tell the most amazing stories of where its materials came from, of the people who made it and the people who wore it.

For this talk, former curator Veronica Main has selected hats from our very own world class collection and will use them to highlight the story behind the countries and hat makers that helped to make Luton a world leader in the hat industry.

Veronica Main, is a hat industry historian, researcher and former curator at Luton Culture. She has a passion for the hat industry and has travelled to many countries, in Europe and beyond, to discover the secrets of the trade... but her heart is set firmly in Luton; the heart of the British hat trade.
