About

The Embankment is an imposing mock Tudor pub with rooms in the heart of Bedford. The clue to our location is in the name! We sit in the middle of Bedford's beautifully landscaped Embankment, with wonderful views out over the River Great Ouse, the boathouses and all the hustle and bustle of life on the river.

The Embankment Hotel was built in 1891 and has just been fully renovated in a style that reflects its late Victorian heyday, but with all the modern comforts and facilities of a great pub. The atmosphere is relaxed and hospitable. There is no stuffy hotel lobby or residents lounge, just a team of friendly faces to look after you.

The Embankment has 20 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms, including doubles with king size beds, twins and family rooms. Rooms 101, 102, 103 and 201 all have spectacular views over the Embankment and the River Great Ouse and are perfect for a special occasion. We also have high quality linen and toiletries and individual touches such as antique gilt framed mirrors.

All rooms have flat screen TV with Freeview and an Ipod adaptor. We also have WiFi access throughout the pub. Tea & coffee making facilities and a hair dryer are provided in all rooms and there is a dedicated ironing room on the 1st floor if you have a shirt that needs pressing.

Each room also comes with a guaranteed friendly welcome from our team and great quality food and drink available just downstairs all day and evening.
Our check in times are from 1pm and check out is 11am. Breakfast is served daily from 7am and 7.30 at weekends.
