Highfield Farm Bed and Breakfast

About

Welcome to Highfield, a 300 acre working arable farm offering friendly, clean and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation set in the rolling countryside right on the Bedfordshire/Cambridge border. Run by John and Anne-Marie, you are very welcome to join them on the farm for a wonderful, peaceful stay in the midst of the gorgeous Bedfordshire countryside.

The award-winning B&B has previously received Best B&B in the Eastern Ridge, a Rose Award from Visit Britain and being ranked as one of the Top Ten B&Bs in England. A visit to the farm will show exactly why these accolades are so well deserved.

All rooms are ensuite with top quality beds, luxurious duck and goose down duvets, White Company toiletries, freeview and hairdryers. On arrival, guests will find a hospitality tray in their room which include home-made biscuits.

Every morning start the day with our delicious farm house breakfast in the bright and airy dining room. We try to source all items locally, with local honey and excellent bread from a local baker. We provide our own home made marmalade and the dining room overlooks open fields, giving you a wonderful view of the farmland and the wildlife that lives there before you head out to enjoy your day.

Whether you are in the area on a business trip, short break or holiday, we aim to make your visit a relaxing and pleasurable experience and being conveniently located, the farm makes for an excellent base for exploring the wider area and accessing the major towns. The farm has easy access to the A14, A1 and M1 and is just two minutes from Sandy, 7 minutes from Biggleswade and the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden. Bedford is just a ten minute journey. You’re also easily placed to access Milton Keynes, Duxford and Cambridge, all of which are around forty minutes away. London can be reached in less than an hour from Sandy station, where trains run direct to Kings Cross.

Many of the region’s top attractions are under an hour away from the farm. These include Knebworth House, where there are concerts and other events held regularly, as well as a number of properties managed by both English Heritage and the National Trust. These attractions include Wrest Park, Audley End House and the Wimpole Estate. Other top places to visit that are just a short journey away include the Shuttleworth Collection, Swiss Gardens, Twin Woods Adventure Centre, IWM Duxford, Woburn Safari Park, Herrings Green Activity Centre, RSPB Headquarters, the Forest Centre and Millennium Country Park, Fitzwilliam Museum, Tempsford Archive Museum, Bletchly Park, Tempsford Heritage Trail, Jordan’s Mill and the Botanical Gardens at Cambridge University.

Whatever the reason for your visit, we offer a friendly, yet professional service. The B&B is family friendly and there are a number of family rooms available for larger groups, we can provide cots if needed. The B&B also has ground floor rooms and accessible accommodation for guests with mobility needs. For business guests, free WiFi is available and guests are welcome to relax in the sitting room, the garden or enjoy the farmland. As a working farm, we do need children to be supervised at all times and we’re not able to welcome pets.

With ample parking, comfortable surroundings and a peaceful environment with easy access to the wider area, Highfield Farm is the ideal location for short stays in the Bedfordshire/Cambridge area.
