John Bunyan Museum & Library

John Bunyan Museum & Library

This gem of a museum looks at John Bunyan's life, as tinker, soldier, dissenter, prisoner, Christian, and writer of the world famous book The Pilgrims Progress. Displays capture life in 17th Century Bedford, Bunyan’s years in prison, and the crowds that flocked to hear him preach. Quizzes and trails allow children to navigate Bunyan’s amazing story at their own pace. Light refreshments are available at the church's Foyer Coffee shop, where scenes from The Pilgrim’s Progress are depicted on the magnificent bronze entrance doors and in some of the finest samples of 20th and 21st century stained glass windows.
