Mothering Sunday at Wyboston Lakes

With the fresh flavours, aromas and produce of spring making a glorious entrance, Wyboston Lakes, situated between Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, has designed a gastronomic feast to treat mums of all generations this Mother’s Day on Sunday, 14th March.

Nestled in 350 acres of countryside, The Fountains Restaurant oozes charm, unrivalled customer service and offers a serene atmosphere in which to enjoy striking lake views and the region’s beautiful scenery.
Presenting a carefree, informal environment, mums and their families can wind down and top up energy levels with a feast that uses only the best and freshest local produce.

Guests can start the day with an English breakfast together with a selection of traditional English compôtes and croissants and Danish pastries.

The hot buffet station consists of a wide variety of dishes such as roast sirloin of British beef with Yorkshire puddings and rich jus, loin of Bedfordshire pork with Bramley apple sauce and poached fillet of Scottish salmon with hollandaise sauce. All dishes are accompanied by roast potatoes and fresh garden vegetables. Vegetarian platters and vegetarian quiches will also be available. In addition, an alluring selection of delicatessen foods, endless choices from the fajita station and handpicked salads will be available.

Sweet-toothed mothers will appreciate the dessert station which offers freshly made pancakes with ice cream, scones with fresh strawberries and clotted cream and a selection of Wyboston Lakes pastry chef’s favourite desserts.

Mums and their families will be able to relax listening to the sounds of swing provided by artist Barry Nobel, whose tunes will add another rich layer to the special day.

Alasdair Swan, general manager at Wyboston Lakes said: “Mother’s Day is all about mum receiving the same amount of love and attention that she gives. To ensure our guests of honour feel thoroughly spoilt, we have filled the buffet stations with delicious dishes and our dedicated team of chefs and waitresses will be on hand ensuring mum has nothing to worry about other than enjoying herself.”

To make mums feel at home and allow them to enjoy their day at a chosen pace, families will be allocated a table for the duration of the event. With the scene firmly set for mums to unwind, short strolls between meals are encouraged, as well as copious servings of their favourite things.

Mother’s Day brunch starts at 11:00 am until 4.00 pm and is priced at £32.95 per person for adults, £16.00 for 5-12 year olds, £5.00 2-4 year olds. This includes an ‘eat as much as you like’ brunch, live music and a gift for mums.

For further information about the Mother’s Day brunch or to book a table please contact 01480 212625 and ask for Laura or email celebrations@wybostonlakes.co.uk.
